Millions of Chinese CVs Exposed Online

A database with resumes of more than 200 million Chinese people has been found exposed online. It includes names, mobile phone numbers, email addresses, education histories, and several other personal details. The incident serves as a warning to the rest of the world as well that information on jobseekers that is often deemed innocuous and “required” to be shared can end up exposing them to identity theft. It might well be time to take a closer look at how online job sites gather, store, and secure information on jobseekers.
