Judy Miller

Bio

Judy Miller is Managing Director of Communications and Forensics at ERMProtect. She has held executive positions at leading media outlets and global investigative firms, giving her a unique skill set. She was an award-winning investigative editor at the San Francisco Chronicle and The Miami Herald, where she led teams awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting and named twice as Pulitzer finalists. She served as Managing Editor of The Miami Herald and the South Florida Business Journal. Judy transitioned into Risk Consulting in 2006, when she joined Kroll Associates as a Managing Director in the Business Intelligence and Investigations division. She worked on  complex global fraud and data breach investigations in the U.S., Latin America and China, leading multi-disciplinary teams of former law enforcement officials, forensic computer experts and intelligence analysts. For more than 12 years, she has advised C-suite executives on security and information security matters, and managed several major data breach incidents.

Education

Judy received her Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University. She graduated from the Computer Assisted Reporting Bootcamp at the  University of Missouri at Colombia, where she learned to mine and manipulate databases for investigative purposes.

Awards

Judy led a team awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Investigative Reporting for exposing voter fraud in the Miami mayoral election; a team named as a Pulitzer finalist for an investigation of the Columbia shuttle explosion; a team named as a Pulitzer finalist for an investigation of deadly wiring in South Florida bus shelters; and teams awarded multiple state and national awards for exposing corruption in government including Harvard University’s Goldsmith Prize.
